I hope we reincarnate- for me, it is the idea that makes the most sense. Presently wedged between the bedpost of dreams and the doorway of reality, I want to gather all I have attained and apply it like a map for the next journey.

Many words flash speaking of change now, not tomorrow or in five years and as wonderful as that sounds the rivers of apprehension continually run. There isn’t a day without a single tear and while glad my heart is open; I know the flood gates are in response to all I don’t understand.

The holidays alter my view and I am standing at the edge of a partially frozen pond, staring at reflections of Christmases before in the open water. The gifts, the food, the magic of it all and I smile for the little girl I once was, who fortunately got everything she wanted and more. The scene then conjures a mindset of confusion for those who struggle and why I receive.

Standing beside the dishwasher, door open- annoyance for emptying it on my mind, when in strolls a new consideration; gratitude, “I should be grateful I even have a dishwasher.” The idea runs on as I empty the cutlery into the drawer; blessed… I am I am.
